GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS
The WGA works to ensure costly legislation and burdensome regulations are stopped before they can cause harm to your business and bottom line. Over the past two legislative sessions, the WGA has been instrumental in:
- Repealing personal property tax on machinery
- Maintaining the Unfair Sales Act
- Repealing child labor laws/work permit requirement for 16- and 17-year-olds
- Allowing earlier alcohol sales and wine/beer sampling
- Allowing storage of liquor invoices electronically
- State funding for unemployment insurance assessment
- Banning municipalities from enacting plastic bag ordinances
