WGA Golf Outing
Wednesday, June 9, 2010

Trappers Turn Golf Course, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin

The WGA’s Golf Outing was one of the most successful outings the association has had in years.  More retailers, more vendors and suppliers helped make it a great day. Go to WGA Golf Outing and scroll down to see who in our industry stepped up to support the WGA.

As DAVE KOTWITZ of the Edgerton Piggly Wiggly said, “You guys put on one hell of a golf outing!!!!!”  And the WGA’s Chairman, BRAD BROOKS (Affiliated Foods Midwest) noted, “DAVE SPIEGELHOFF along with Cheryl, Brandon, Sarah, Michelle, Kevin and John (WGA Staff) did a great job of planning and organizing the WGA’s Golf Outing.  The turnout was great, probably the best we’ve ever had.  And the weather gods smiled on us and the staff at Trapper’s Turn was terrific.

I also want to thank everyone who participated in the event as it wouldn’t be a success without them.”   And this from GREG LAPOINT of Russ Davis Wholesale, “We had a great time at the WGA’s annual grocery golf outing! Thank you for all the hard work your group puts in to the outing. It really shows.”

PAULA CARLSON and Tom BUETTNER of Cost Seg Associates, “It’s one of the better events we’ve attended.  The quality of the people was extremely – a perfect 10.”HEIDI KRAEMER of Badger Inventory Service, "Thanks again to Cheryl and the WI Grocers gang for putting together such a wonderful and well organized event.

The Badger girls under the tent had a great time seeing everyone again and really enjoyed seeing the smiles on all the golfers faces when they got their free golf balls!  What a great way to talk to so many grocers in a relaxed atmosphere. We always look forward to this event every year!"

A Few More Pats on the Back   “The WGA’s Grocery Industry Golf Outing is one of the most valuable outings we participate in do to the interactive fun activities on the course and the quality of networking opportunities on the course.

The Putt the Potato challenge provided a captured audience to promote ‘Buy Local’ and the importance of potatoes in the grocery industry in Wisconsin to key grocery industry decision-makers.

"It was a great day!“  TIM FEIT from the Wisconsin Potato & Vegetable Growers

I just wanted to tell you and your staff “Thanks” for a great golf outing yesterday. You could not have asked for a better day to have an outing and I really enjoyed myself. I look forward to doing this again next year.”   JERRY BANNERMAN - General Business Services.

We would like to “really” thank you, the WGA staff, the course staff, and the Wisconsin Weather for an outstanding outing.  We had a great time meeting with friends and other vendors.  Our team was terrific!  We look forward to participating in this and the other future WGA events.”   JERRY HOWARD & BRYAN GILLUM - Shazam

Grocery industry members from around the state gathered at the annual WGA’s Grocery Industry Golf Outing. We enjoyed many challenges to raise funds for the WGA Education & Scholarship Foundation and the WGA.
